MyStudyDen Privacy Policy

Overview

MyStudyDen is designed around a local-first study data boundary. Courses, tasks, pasted source text, generated study packets, and saved Ask answers are stored on your device by default. When you sign in, local study workspaces are kept separate for each MyStudyDen account on that device. MyStudyDen does not routinely upload your full study library as a background sync feature.

Some features require server processing. When you use AI features, MyStudyDen sends the selected material, your question, and relevant packet context needed to complete that request.

Information Stored On Your Device

By default, your course names, tasks, source text, generated packets, packet notes, saved Ask questions and answers, retrieved contexts, and app workspace state are stored locally on your phone or tablet. Signed-in accounts use separate local workspaces on the same device.

If you delete the app, local app data may be removed from that device. MyStudyDen does not currently provide automatic full-library cloud sync through the MyStudyDen server.

If you choose to use iCloud Backup in Settings, the iPhone and iPad app can save and restore study data through your Apple iCloud account, and the Android app can use MyStudyDen's private app-data folder in your signed-in Google Drive account. These backups are user-initiated, do not pass through the MyStudyDen server, and do not include Egg balances.

If you created study data before signing in, MyStudyDen may move that local workspace into the first signed-in account on that device so the data remains available without uploading it to the MyStudyDen server.

Information Sent To MyStudyDen Servers

MyStudyDen sends data to its server only when needed to operate account and AI features. This may include:

• Firebase user ID and authentication provider information.
• Apple or Google sign-in account state as provided through Firebase Authentication.
• An app-generated device identifier used for rate limits and abuse prevention.
• Egg balance and Egg ledger records needed to avoid double charging.
• AI usage metadata such as request ID, endpoint, provider, model, status, Egg cost, source character count, and context count.
• The selected source text, question, and relevant packet context used for an AI request.

AI Processing

When you generate a study packet, review syllabus tasks, prepare packet search, or ask a question, MyStudyDen may send the selected request content to an AI provider through the MyStudyDen server. This content is used to produce the requested study output.

MyStudyDen does not intentionally send your entire local study library for a single AI request. The app sends the selected material and relevant context needed for that action.

AI providers process request content as service providers for MyStudyDen. A provider may retain prompts and responses for a limited period for security or abuse monitoring under its service terms, even though MyStudyDen does not use that content to create a server-hosted study library.

Authentication And Account Data

MyStudyDen uses Firebase Authentication for account access. The iPhone and iPad app uses Sign in with Apple, and the Android app uses Google sign in. AI features require an Apple- or Google-linked Firebase account. Anonymous Firebase accounts may be used only as a staging state and are not allowed to use protected AI endpoints.

If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, MyStudyDen may receive Apple's relay email instead of your personal email address.

MyStudyDen also creates a random app device identifier for rate limits and abuse prevention. The iPhone and iPad app stores it in the device keychain, and the Android app stores it in private app storage. This identifier is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Purchases And Egg Balances

Egg balances are used to meter AI-heavy features. Server-side account records store bonus and purchased Egg balances and ledger entries so MyStudyDen can prevent abuse and avoid duplicate charges.

Paid Egg packs are processed by the purchase system for the platform where they are sold. The iPhone and iPad app uses Apple's App Store purchase system, and the Android app uses Google Play Billing. MyStudyDen receives transaction metadata needed to credit purchased Eggs, prevent duplicate credits, and help resolve support requests. Paid Eggs do not expire.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion in the app from Settings. Account deletion removes your Firebase-linked MyStudyDen server account, Egg balance, Egg ledger records, and AI usage event records associated with your account.

To prevent repeated new-account bonus grants after deletion and re-signup, MyStudyDen may retain a hashed deletion marker derived from the Apple or Google provider identifier used for the deleted account. This marker does not include your course content, source text, questions, answers, or generated packets.

Purchase transaction records may be retained where needed for fraud prevention, accounting, support, or legal obligations. You can also use the account deletion page to request deletion without the app.

Your courses, tasks, source text, generated packets, and saved Ask answers are stored locally on your device by default in that account's local workspace. Deleting your account does not automatically erase local study data from the device.

Security

MyStudyDen uses account authentication and server-side controls to protect AI endpoints and Egg balances. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but the app is designed to limit routine server storage of your study content.

Changes

MyStudyDen may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
